Celebrating One Year
Cheers to one year in Kenya!! We celebrate and give thanks for our loved ones, God’s steadfast love and Missions of Hope!!
We hit the jackpot when it comes to family – the real deal, friends who are like family and the body of Christ. You all are our source of encouragement, our cheerleaders as we run the race. You give to our family sacrificially, pray for us fervently, love us beyond measure and entrust us with God’s plan for our here and now. A big shout out to our parents for their hearts that love us hard despite the miles between us and their hands that are open – releasing their kids and grandson to a foreign land. We are forever grateful, asante sana.
God’s steadfast love is one of His beautiful promises to us. He is faithful in keeping them. It was a little one unnerving to move to Kenya with a little, but every worry is superseded by the peace that comes from Jesus coupled with good gifts from above – Elijah’s health, his tiny friends and our tribe in Kenya.
We see His fingerprints of steadfast love in the everyday mundane and exciting expansion of His kingdom. There is still so much to be done and so much to learn. We make mistakes. Plenty of them. And when we do, Jesus is with us to clean up our messes. We only need to lean into and look for His steadfast love.
God’s power is put on display through Missions of Hope International in desperate and sometimes desolate places of Kenya because Mary and Wallace Kamau obeyed the conviction to serve the poor in a radical way. We are richly blessed to be a few among many to continue fulfilling this call. MOHI staff – over 800 men and women – challenge and strengthen our faith. We are invited every day to play our part so that they can feed, teach, advocate, heal and listen to over 16,000 MOHI students. We get to share stories of hope, cast visions with leadership and pray for students, families and communities being served.
With one year under our belt, we thank you. God is good. Our prayer is for us all to eagerly anticipate His faithfulness in all seasons and continue to run the race set before each of us.
