One of our greatest desires at Westside is to pass our faith on to the next generations. We work hard to make Westside a place where our children can grow up in a rich spiritual environment that will help their faith grow. Our children are blessed to be surrounded by a multi-generational community of believers committed to encouraging and walking alongside them on their spiritual journey. During worship service on Sunday morning we offer a fully staffed nursery for children under 3 and Kids Praise for children in preschool through 3rd grade. After worship service, we have Bible classes for children 6 months through 6th grade. For more information, contact our church office or check out our upcoming Children’s Ministry events.
Route 56 Ministry
Our 5th and 6th grade ministry is an awesome place to make friends, grow closer to Jesus and make a difference in your community. We have specialized events and Bible classes just for these students throughout the week. If you’d like more information about Route 56, use the button below to contact us or visit our Route 56 Facebook page.
The guiding principle of the Westside Student Ministry is that the only way to have our deepest needs met is through Jesus Christ. Our ministry is a place where students can connect with a sincere and authentic Christian community, grow in their faith through prayer, Bible study and small groups, serve others with grateful hearts and share the Good News of Jesus in our community. Throughout the year, we offer a safe place for teenagers to hang out, study God’s Word, serve the community, and grow closer with one another. Westside is a great place for college students to grow in their faith and give back to their community. Westside is located just minutes from CSUB and we also have several students from Bakersfield College. Our college ministry focuses on helping students strengthen their faith in God through authentic Christian community. Each Sunday night we have our college ministry care group, and we also have special events and retreats throughout the year. If you are looking for a place to learn more about the Bible and make some great Christian friends, check out our college ministry! For more information, contact Bryan Fojtasek or check out our upcoming College Ministry events.
Westside has ministries for adults of all ages! We are proud to offer classes and small groups for young adults, parents, men, women, and the Young at Heart! Small Groups are at the heart of our adult ministry. These smaller groups meet all over Bakersfield on Sunday evenings. Joining a Small Group is a great way to get to know people on a more personal level while growing in your knowledge about God and how to practice that knowledge in daily life. We also have various Bible classes to choose from on Sunday at 10:30am and Wednesday at 6:30pm. Check out our upcoming Adult Ministry events page or use the buttons below to contact one of our Adult Ministry leaders.

Young at Heart Ministry
Our Young at Heart Ministry is for our friends and church members who are 55 years old and up. This community of believers organizes fellowship activities and service projects throughout the year that are perfect for those of us who are a little bit older and wiser. If you are looking for a group of men and women who will encourage you to stay strong in your faith, the Young at Heart ministry is here to serve you! For more information, click here to Contact Jeff Prude or check out our upcoming Young at Heart events.
In Matthew 28:28-20, Jesus teaches us to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We take this commandment seriously, and we are proud to financially support several ministries around the world that work towards this goal. Some of the projects that Westside supports are the “Change for Children” program in Ethiopia, the “Let’s Love” ministry in Ukraine, Missions of Hope International, and the Palmares Church of Christ in Costa Rica. We also organize and support several other short-term missions projects throughout the world. To read more about our current missions projects, check out our Missions Ministry Updates. If you have an idea in mind for a missions project, contact Marshall Richert for more information!
