What is Springfest?
Springfest is a weekend youth conference for junior high and high school students from across California. We come together to worship God, encourage one another and serve in our local community.
Worship, games, free time, service projects, meals, breakout classes and experience-based prayer times.
We are thrilled to announce that Eric Wilson will be our keynote speaker this year at Springfest!
Eric Wilson is a certified Spiritual Director & Life Coach who serves as the Associate Chaplain at Pepperdine University. Wilson is a poet, award winning playwright and theatrical director. His work has been published and performed around the country including the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Eric serves as the Spiritual Director for the National Racial Unity Leadership Summit.
Please join us in prayer that God would move in Eric’s heart, soul and mind as he prepares to bring us the Word of God in a powerful way at Springfest!
We are so excited to announce that Won By One will be leading worship at Springfest this year!
Won by One is a six-member a cappella performing group representing Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. They will be leading our worship sessions on Saturday and Sunday during Springfest, plus they are performing a concert for us on Saturday night.
Many of our students know and love Won by One because of their incredible worship at SoCal Teen Camp and Impact Retreat. If you haven’t heard or met them before, you’ll get a chance to spend time with them during one of the Saturday morning breakout sessions to learn about their experience at Pepperdine. We know you will be blessed by their love for God and their heart for worship.
Thank you Won by One for including us in your tour this year! To learn more about Won by One, please visit https://www.pepperdine.edu/spiritual-life/church-relations/wbo.
Two years ago, we began setting aside time during Springfest to give back to our community through service projects that support local nonprofits and ministries that do incredible work in Kern County throughout the year.
Over the past two years, we’ve sent over 250 students and chaperones to volunteer at several local organizations such as:
- The Mission at Kern County
- Bakersfield Homeless Center
- Teen Challenge
- Covenant Community Services
- Society for Disabled Children
- Ronald McDonald House
- The HOPE Center
Our students and chaperones have absolutely loved serving in our community, and we’re excited to expand this emphasis on community service for Springfest 2018.
Christian College and Nonprofit Fair
This year at Springfest, you and your family will have the chance to meet with admissions officers from several Christian colleges, college students from faith-based students groups, and local nonprofits during our first-ever Christian College and Nonprofit fair.
These organizations will set up displays inside our church gymnasium on Saturday, April 7 from 9am-1pm so that parents, students, and community members can learn more about the opportunities that have to further their education at a Christian college, give back in their local community and get involved in student groups that promote the love, justice and healing that is found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
This event is open to the public, and we highly encourage the families of students who attend Springfest to check it out! Check out Westsidelife.org/Springfest for updates on which organizations will be participating.
