Westside Church of Christ is starting a new Bible Study series for college age students titled “Jesus > Religion.”
What Is It?
Jesus>Religion will help readers abandon dead, dry, rule-keeping and embrace the promise of being truly known and deeply loved.
The study unpacks and highlights the difference between teeth gritting and grace, law and love, performance and peace, despair and hope. Author Jefferson Bethke is quick to acknowledge that he’s not a pastor or theologian, but simply a regular, twenty-something who cried out for a life greater than the one for which he had settled. Along his journey, Bethke discovered the real Jesus, who beckoned him beyond the props of false religion.
What Does It Involve?
This six-session Bible study combines 15 minute teaching videos from Jefferson Bethke with group discussion focused on 2-3 key passages from the Bible that speak truth into our lives.
The member book contains the main points from the videos, guided devotionals for you to do on your own, and the discussion questions that you’ll talk through as a group. Download chapter 1 of the member book or check out a few highlights here.
